Conduct and Non-Discrimination
How we treat one another, how to report a concern, and what follows.
Amounts, windows and limits on this page are drafts that aali confirms before launch.
The standard
We expect every learner, teacher and organiser to treat others with dignity and fairness, in courses, live sessions, the community, events, chat groups and every space aali runs.
Non-discrimination
aali does not allow anyone to be discriminated against or shut out because of race, colour, nationality, origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, health condition, marital status, employment status or any other personal trait that has nothing to do with learning. The same rule applies to admission to courses, marking, accommodations and the community.
Bullying and harassment
This covers threats, insults, repeated mockery, posting what embarrasses someone, stalking, and unwanted comments, contact or messages, whether in public or in private messages.
Integrity
Handing in someone else's work, sharing assessment questions, impersonation and sharing accounts are breaches handled in the same way.
Teachers and staff
The rules bind our team and teachers too. A report against one of them is reviewed by someone who does not work under them.
How to report
Write to support, your teacher or a community organiser. Say what happened, when, where and who was involved, and attach what you have. You can ask that your name be kept from the other person as far as fairness allows [confidential channel: to be confirmed].
What happens next
- We confirm that we have your report within three working days (draft);
- we hear both sides and weigh the evidence, with someone who has no connection to the matter;
- we tell both sides the outcome and the reasons in writing.
Outcomes
They fit the seriousness: a conversation, a warning, a limit on access to a space, a suspension, and in serious cases removal from aali and withdrawal of the certificate, without a fee refund. We may inform the competent authorities where the law requires.
No retaliation
Retaliation against anyone who reported in good faith or took part in an inquiry is forbidden and is a breach in itself. Anyone not satisfied with the outcome can ask for a review under the appeals policy.
