Programme Certificate Requirements
What a course certificate and a programme certificate need, how you receive them, and what they do not mean.
Amounts, windows and limits on this page are drafts that aali confirms before launch.
Course certificates and programme certificates
aali issues two kinds of certificate. A course certificate confirms that you completed one course. A programme certificate confirms that you completed all the courses and the final project of a programme. Both come from aali alone, and neither is a degree or an accredited qualification.
What a programme certificate needs
- completing every required course of the programme as the completion policy defines;
- finishing the final project and reaching its pass mark;
- finishing within the programme window on its page, which is longer than the programme itself so as to allow one deferral;
- paying the programme fees in full under your payment plan.
How you receive it
The digital certificate is issued in your account once the completion record is confirmed, normally within a few working days (draft). It carries your name as in your account, the course or programme, the date and a code that anyone can check on the verification page. You can ask for a printed copy, and the shipping cost is shown when you ask (draft).
A lost certificate
Your digital certificate stays in your account, so download it whenever you like at no charge. No replacement is needed unless its details change.
Names and corrections
The name on a certificate is the name in your account when it is issued, so correct it before you complete. If you ask for a change afterwards we issue a new certificate and mark the old one as replaced.
A course you finished before the programme
A course you completed at aali before joining a programme may count towards it, provided it is one of the programme's courses and was completed no more than two years before you joined (draft). Ask for this when you enrol in the programme.
Verification
Any body, such as an employer or sponsor, can check your certificate by its code on the verification page. The page shows only the name, the course or programme, the date and whether the certificate is valid.
What the certificate means
The certificate shows that you studied and completed at aali. It carries no recognised academic credit [academic recognition: to be confirmed]. aali withdraws a certificate gained by breaking the honor code or the conduct policy, after telling you and allowing an appeal.
