Joining the Community

Who joins the aali community, how, and the rules that come with it.

Amounts, windows and limits on this page are drafts that aali confirms before launch.

Who can join

Everyone who completes a course or programme at aali can join the aali community at no extra charge (draft). A learner who is still studying enters only the space of their own cohort until they complete.

How to join

  1. After completion we email an invitation to the address on your account within a few days (draft);
  2. accept the invitation and create your profile;
  3. agree to the honor code and the community values.

The invitation is yours alone and its link may not be passed on. If it does not arrive, write to support.

What the community offers

  • discussion boards by topic, city and sector;
  • a calendar of virtual events and local meetings;
  • local groups led by volunteer learners;
  • a directory of members who chose to be listed.

Your profile

Your profile is visible to community members only. You decide whether to show your employer, city and way of contact, and you can change this or hide your profile at any time.

Events and local groups

Volunteer learners organise local meetings and virtual events with aali's permission and under its code. An organiser may not charge participants or collect their data without our agreement.

Privacy in the community

What you post is seen by members, so do not post what you would not want them to know. We do not hand member data to marketers and we do not allow it to be scraped from the boards. For more, see the community questions.

Rules

The honor code and the conduct policy apply across the community. A breach can lead to a warning, a limit in one space, or removal from the community, depending on how serious it is. Joining does not depend on buying more courses, and the community is not used to market aali courses to members without their permission.

Leaving and removal

You can leave the community whenever you wish, and your profile is deleted within a reasonable time [period: to be confirmed]. If your membership is removed, you can ask for the decision to be reviewed under the appeals policy.
