Changing Programme Status
Deferring a cohort course once, restarting, and withdrawing.
Amounts, windows and limits on this page are drafts that aali confirms before launch.
Deferring a cohort course
You may defer once, to the next cohort of the same course. Ask no later than one week after the start date (7 days, draft). Only cohort courses can be deferred; on-demand courses and sprints cannot.
A restart, not a pause
A deferral is a restart. In the new cohort you begin from the first week, and the work you did in the earlier cohort does not carry over. You keep your account and your payment.
Your access during a deferral
Your access to the earlier cohort's materials stops when you defer, and your new access opens when the next cohort starts. We send you its calendar, and tell you if its start date changes.
Fees
- Deferring once costs nothing.
- Your payment is held as a credit for the next cohort.
- If the price has changed, you pay or get back the difference (draft).
One deferral only
A second deferral is not available. If you cannot start in the new cohort you may withdraw; the payment and refunds policy applies, the 24-hour window will have passed, and no refund is due.
Programmes
A programme can be deferred as a whole, once, to its next start, if you ask within a week of its first start and have not completed a course in it. After that, a learner who needs a break may ask for an exception that extends the programme window.
Withdrawing
Withdrawing ends your enrolment and is recorded in your account, and you can enrol again later at the price then in force. Past-learner pricing applies to a later course only if you have completed a course before it.
How to ask
- Open your account page and choose Change status, or write to support;
- choose the new cohort from the dates shown;
- wait for our confirmation email; the change is complete only when it arrives.
If no later cohort is announced, we offer the next one that is, or a refund under the payment and refunds policy.
