FAQs

Learning Experience

How a week runs, how much time it takes, and how you learn with your cohort. The rules and figures in these answers are drafts until aali's team confirms them.

How does a study week run?

Each week brings a case from a real company, short lessons and exercises, and a discussion with your cohort. You read and try the tools at your own pace during the week, and join a live session at a set time if your course has one (draft).

Do I have to log in at set times?

Not in on-demand courses. Cohort courses have a weekly deadline and, in some, a live session at a fixed time. Anyone who misses a session gets a recording and a written summary (draft).

Can I work ahead of the group?

In cohort courses each week opens on its day, so you cannot jump ahead, though you can read the case early. On-demand courses open all their modules (draft), so you may go as fast as you like within your access period.

What if I fall behind the group?

In a cohort you can still read and hand in late work until the course closes, but late discussion posts miss the live conversation. If life takes you away for more than a week, ask support about moving your place to the next cohort.

How is the course assessed?

The draft plan has no exam marks or letter grades. You complete the exercises, take part in the discussions and hand in a short end-of-course task. The certificate of completion is issued when you meet the completion rules on the course page (draft).

How much will I talk with the other learners?

Every cohort course has a weekly discussion with the same group, and groups stay small so everyone is heard. After the course you have a place to keep in touch with classmates and other aali learners in the community (draft).

Do teachers comment on my work?

Yes. Teachers and their assistants read the discussion, answer questions and comment on the end-of-course task (draft). On-demand courses give automatic feedback on exercises and a question box that is answered within a few working days.

How long do I keep access after the course ends?

An on-demand course gives you 90 days from the day you enrol (draft), and a sprint 30 days. A cohort course stays open for reading for 90 days after its last week (draft). Your certificate stays downloadable at any time.

What do I need to learn?

A device and a quiet hour, nothing more. Some courses list a prerequisite on their page. If there is pre-work, such as a short reading, we send it to you before the start date.

What is a learning track, and why 18 months?

A learning track is three courses in one subject. Finish all three within 18 months (draft) and you earn a specialisation certificate on top of the three completion certificates. The window is short enough that you still remember the first course when you finish the third.

Can I preview a course before I buy it?

Each course page shows the syllabus, the outcomes and the faculty slots, and you can join an info session from the events page. Full content is for enrolled learners only, and the draft plan has no free audit.
