The syllabus.

3 modules and about 30 hours.

PreworkBefore you start

Before the start: choose a real negotiation coming up in your work to follow throughout the course, and complete a short survey on your negotiating style.

Module 1 · 10 hPreparation: your goal and your alternative

You prepare a worksheet for a real deal from your work: goals, alternatives, walk-away point and an estimate of the other side's position, then test it in a paired simulation with a peer.

Module 2 · 10 hAt the table: interests and creating value

You practise the questions that reveal interests, build a package of trade-offs in a supplier-and-distributor simulation, and face hard bargaining and a limit the other side refuses to cross.

Module 3 · 10 hClosing: an agreement that holds

You draft the terms and follow-up arrangements, handle a multi-party negotiation across different cultures, and present your group with a review of your own performance in a final simulation.
