The syllabus.

4 modules and about 30 hours. A basic grasp of return and risk, and of spreadsheets, helps.

Module 1 · 8 hThe idea and the criteria

You meet the environmental, social and company-management criteria and why they emerged, debate whether they really change return and risk, and distinguish sustainable investing from giving.

Module 2 · 8 hReading companies: disclosure and data

You read a regional energy company's sustainability report against its financial statements, identify what it disclosed and what it left out, and compute simple carbon indicators.

Module 3 · 7 hApproaches to investing

You compare exclusion, best-in-class selection, impact-driven investing and shareholder engagement, applying each to the same case to see how the decision changes.

Module 4 · 7 hBuilding a portfolio and measuring it

You build a sample portfolio of 20 holdings under a written investment policy, track its return and impact, and write a short memo that justifies your choices and admits the limits of measurement.
